  Television: Final index We have now completed our work on Television - our first in-depth topic and one guaranteed to come up in Paper 2.   We now now need to create an index to make sure we have completed all the blog work for this topic. Every index you create is an excellent way to make sure you are  revising  the course as we go - as well as highlighting if you've missed anything. (Look at the five bullet points above) To provide information (that is supposed to be balanced) To support learning for people of all ages To produce creative output To have diverse content (such as with its representations) To reflect the United Kingdom, its culture and values to the world 4) What is regulation and how is the BBC regulated? Regulation- bbc is  regulated by Ofcom . 5) How do Doctor Who and His Dark Materials help the BBC to meet the  BBC's remit to inform, educate and entertain ? teaches historical + cultural  evidence with a touch of sci-fi 

Industries and audience

Create a new blogpost called 'Doctor Who: Audience and Industry blog tasks' and answer the following questions: Audience 1) Who is the target audience for Doctor Who? Has it changed since 1963? The majority of Doctor Who episodes in the modern series have been rated PG (Parental Guidance) by the British Board of Film Classification (BBFC), meaning that they should be fine for most kids but parents should consider whether it's suitable if the child is  under 8 or more sensitive . 2) What audience pleasures are offered by Doctor Who - An Unearthly Child?  Apply Blumler and Katz's Uses and Gratifications theory to the episode. Make sure you provide specific examples from the episode to support your ideas.
